Plan Audits

People with complicated physical challenges often require a significant amount of financial and day to day support to achieve the quality of life that they deserve.
Their NDIS budget, and the way that it is allocated, needs to be reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects changes in their health, their family circumstances and their life goals.
Most Plan Managers allocate far too little time, resources and funds to Plan Review for their clients, putting their Support Coordinators under massive pressure just to maintain the status quo.
We were tremendously excited when the NDIS recently released a new line item from Core budget which allows independent parties to provide comprehensive Plan Audits for our clients.
Given Liam’s lived-experience in managing his own plans, and his formal training in Support Coordination, Ability2Connect are in a unique position to take a really deep-dive into our client’s funding and ensure that it is providing them the best quality of life possible.
Our reviews start with a detailed client interview to determine:
- How happy they are with their current support;
- What is working and what is not;
- What may have slipped through the cracks or could be done better/more efficiently;
- What has changed in their lives since their Plans were negotiated;
- What are their goals, and what are their quality-of-life expectations and future potentials;
A full economic review of spend across the last two-three years is then undertaken to determine:
- The amount of funds being spend on plan management and administration;
- any perceived wastage;
- trends in terms of allied health support;
- allocation of funds to entertainment, connection and quality of life;
- any changes in their lives that have impacted on their funding;
- determination of the need for further funding to support these changes.
We then prepare a comprehensive report, presenting it to the client and their support team, providing our recommendations and discussing how they can be implemented.
This report can then be passed on to our client’s Plan Managers and other Service Providers for implementation and we are, of course, happy to liaise with Plan Managers and providers on behalf of our clients towards this.
Please note that our Plan Reviews are also excellent value for those with Self-Managed Plans, often supporting our clients to stream-line their self-management efforts, and unearthing efficiencies and new potentials which may not have occurred to them.
